PALAICHORI

 

1991 : A pioneering work was elaborated for the two Palaichoria communities (Palaichori Morphou and Palaichori Orinis) in 1991 and 1992 at the request of the Community of Palaichori and the Association for the Protection of the Monuments of Palaichori. From 1992 onward this community has acted upon all the recommendations of the consultative study PALAICHORI. CULTURAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL HERITAGE. PRESENT STATE, SAFEGUARDING, AND USE (50 text pages and 30 plates).

GEROSKIPOU

 

1997 – 2000: Records in the Municipality of Geroskipou and elaboration of the consultative study GEROSKIPOU, ENVIRONMENTAL AND CULTURAL HERITAGE. PRESENT SITUATION, SAFEGUARDING, AND USE(81 text pages and 50 plates).

2000: In the year 2000 an inventory of the old traditional houses in the Municipality of Geroskipou, mainly in its historic centre, was elaborated by the Centre, and submitted to the Planning Bureau (Ministry of the Interior) so that these houses could be classified and protected and the state contributed to their restoration.

LANEIA

Consultancies on cultural tourism

The Centre, through consultancy studies, aims to help, promote, and raise the standard of cultural tourism in Cyprus, through seminars and consultancies. The Cyprus Guides’ Association, the Cyprus Tourism Organisation and groups interested in cultural tourism have profited from the Centre’s scholarly knowledge of Cyprus cultural heritage and history.
